Motherhood seems to have changed you…Yes, motherhood changes women. You begin to see yourself as a co-creator. You begin to see yourself as a protector. Few days ago, I was feeding Purity and she started dragging the bottle with me with the hot water in it. She pushed the bottle, I had to quickly push her away from the water and let it pour on my arm instead. That’s the kind of protection I am talking about. I think it will also make you feel more responsible for other children as well. You begin to see them as children of some other mothers. You have a sense of responsibility to want to protect them as well.

Pres. Jonathan, Gov. Amaechi shut down feud rumour

 President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi Shut down the rumours that all is not well between them.

There was a rumour days back that Amaechi was stopped at the presidential dinner from seeing the president by one of the president bodyguard.

But that was put to rest when the president and Gov. Amaechi, had a chance meeting at the Port Harcourt Airport and both hugged each other.

Atlanta 1994 hero, Thompson Oliha is dead

Former Super Eagles player, Thompson Oliha, has passed on. The midfielder, who was among the 1994 victorious Super Eagles' squad that won the Nations cup in Tunisia, died today Sunday, June 30 at 4.05 am at the Yusjib industrial medicare hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State, Super Sport reports.

Confirming his death in Ilorin, Doctor Yusuf Addulraheem told Super Sport that Oliha was brought to the hospital at the time when there was nothing he could do to resuscitate him.

“I feel so sad to confirm to you that Thompson Oliha is dead and by the time his wife brought him here, the body was completely lifeless. His wife Irish Oliha told me that he slumped in the toilet before rushing him to hospital and there was nothing we could do to save him,”

Until his death, Oliha was the head coach of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) in Ilorin, Kwara State. He was 44 years old.

May his soul rest in peace. what a sad incident.

Tuface's wife, Annie Idibia charge to court over wedding photos

 

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has fixed October 16, 2013 for the commencement of trial in a N120 million copyright suit filed against popular music star, Innocent Idibia, a.k.a. TuFace, his wife, Annie Idibia and their manager, Anthonio Anifite over photographs allegedly taken at the recent traditional wedding of the musician and his wife in Akwa Ibom State.

Abuja based photographer, Emmanuel Okolo, who is the plaintiff in the suit alongside his studio, Papilonmexy filed suit against the defendants.

Mandela's family sues grandson over burial site

As former South African President, Nelson Mandela, remained in a critical condition in hospital on Friday, a family feud over where the 94-year-old former president should be buried went to the courts.

Mandela’s oldest daughter, Makaziwe, and 15 other family members have pressed a court application to get Mandela’s grandson to return the bodies of three of Mandela’s children to their original graves in the eastern rural village of Qunu, according to the South African Broadcasting Corporation.

The grandson, Mandla Mandela, acknowledges having reburied the three bodies 20 kilometers (13 miles) away in the Mvezo village, where he plans to create a Mandela shrine, hotel and soccer stadium, according to the South African Press Association.

Grandson Mandla Mandela has until Saturday to respond to the court filing, reports said.

The anti-apartheid leader built his retirement home in Qunu and was living there until his repeated hospitalisations which started at the end of last year. Nelson Mandela attended the burial of his son at the family plot in Qunu in 2005, and it was widely expected that the leader himself would be buried there.

But his grandson exhumed the bodies of Mandela’s three children and moved them to nearby Mvezo, where he holds authority as chief.

Tonto Dikeh risk 15 years jail term for posting weed photo

Tonto Dikeh recently post a photo of herself holding a wrap of marijuana on her instagram page and it came after singer Rihanna posted photos of herself smoking weed and also lighting two giant one in Amastadam.  Now the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has threatened the actress with a jail term of 15 years.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Friday said controversial Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, risks a minimum of 15 years in jail for encouraging the consumption of hemp.

Dikeh had on Friday posted photographs of a wrap of hemp and grains of the weed formed into the letters, ‘Happy birthday POKO.’

Federal Govt- Dana airline to pay crash victim families compensation by December

 

The Federal Government on Thursday ordered the management of Dana Air and its insurers to ensure the payment of all claims to the dependants of passengers and others who lost their lives in the June 3, 2012 air crash before the end of this year.

Although the airline said it had paid over 60 per cent of the claims, the government insisted it must clear the outstanding debts this year.

The Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, gave the order in Abuja during the 2013 ministerial briefing organised by the Federal Ministry of Communications.

She said, “The challenge of Dana is that of multiple claims. When you have multiple claims, it becomes difficult to ascertain who should collect. And until they are able to do that, they will not pay multiple claims and we will continue verifying and re-verifying to ascertain who should be the next of kin to claim the money.

Governor Suswan visits Gov Suntai in the US

 

Governor Gabriel SuswaN and his wife Yemisi paid a visit to Gov Suntai Danbaba in the US while he was on official duty.

The governor of Benue State disputed the claimed that the Taraba State governor who had a plane crashed in 2012 has lost his memory.

According to Suswam, Suntai is in full faculty of his brain and can recognise people. He said that he had a one hour interaction with the governor who was just discharged from the John Hopkins Hospital.

He clamed the Suntai chatted with him and even eat his meal in his presence.

 Two young Nigerians Giannis Adetokunbo and Victor Oladipo have been drafted into NBA. The youngster, were drafted this morning at the NBA draft event.

Oladipo 22 was drafted in the No 2 by Orlando Magic while Adetokunbo 18 was drafted in the 15th pick by Milwackee Bucks.

This is a big break for Nigeria after the 1st draft pick of Hakeem Olajuwon in 1984.
Victor Oladipo was picked at Indiana University where he played while Giannis Adetokunbo was picked out of Greece.

We hope that these two new professional basketballers will have a successful career and hopefully play for Nigeria.

According to the robber, the rapper had claimed he was not robbed but the robber is claiming otherwise using the Driver's License and Visa Card as evidence that 2Chainz was robbed.

At the National Economic Conference meeting held in Abuja, Governor Amaechi who usually sat close to Vice- President Sambo, was told he could not sit next to the vice- president this time around as there was a change in sitting arrangement. He was told this by Niger State Gov. Aliyu Abubakar. The later told him they are sitting alphabetically (That is P before R).

So, Gov. Amaechi headed for his seat and greeted people on his way to his seat, not uite long later, Plateau State Gov. Jonah Jang also came in and also headed for his usual seat but was told there was a change in the sitting arrangement.
