Obama appoints first transgender to the White House

President Barack Obama has appointed the first openly transgender White House staff member, according to an announcement Tuesday.

Raffi Freedman-Gurspan, a former policy adviser at the National Center for Transgender Equality, will serve as an outreach and recruitment director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.

Oscar Pistorius early release blocked: remains in prison until case is review

Though, he was expected to be released from prison this Friday, August 21st, 2015 but South African blade-runner, Oscar Pistorius will be remanded in prison indefinitely until a review his done on his case.

The decision to keep the athlete, who had only spent 10 months out of his five  year jail term in Prison was made by the South Africa Ministry of Justice. According to the ministry, the decision for the athlete to spend 10months out of his jail term was 'taken prematurely and without any legal basis'. He is now to spend more time in prison until the review board come to a decision on his case.
