Ahmed Lawan wins Ali Ndume with 79 votes to 28 for senate sit

Ahmed Lawan, of All Progressive Congress, has emerged as the senate president with 79 votes while his opponrnt, Ali Ndume, of People's Democratic Party got 28 votes.

Ekweremadu up against Omo- Agege as senate deputy speaker

A new twist has been added to the run,of who becomes the deputy speaker of the 9th Assembly, has People's Democratic Party former deputy Speaker, Ike Ekweremadu, from Enugu, has been put up to run against All Progressive Congress sole candidate, Ovie Omo- Agege, from Delta state.

Kudirat Abiola, Stella Adadevoh, Aisha Buhari among 22 women inducted into women hall of fame


The National Center for Women Develop has inducted 22 women into its hall of fame.

Among the Nigerian women inducted were, Kudirat Abiola, who was murdered during the struggle for the June 12, election, which was widely believed was won by her late husband, MKO. Abiola.
