Susan Rice was up until recently the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Her long-standing aspiration of becoming the US Secretary of State was dashed when the Republicans in the Senate started sharpening their knives in anticipation of her formal nomination for that position by President Barak Obama.
Sensing that her nomination would not scale through the Senate and that she would not be confirmed as Secretary of State due to the role she played in the cover-up of the Benghazi shooting in which the US envoy to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other American citizens were murdered by a group of Islamist terrorists, her nomination was withdrawn.

You are desperate and an illitrate- Ribadu tells Abati
A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu has described the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati as a desperate personality, a fraud and someone who lacks ‘the simplest level of media literacy.’
Reacting to a statement credited to Mr Abati, in which the presidential spokesman referred to his views at a lecture in Kaduna last weekend as hypocritical and self-serving, Mr Ribadu accused the presidential aide of standing on “crooked crutches of rehashed falsehoods fabricated by corrupt politicians.”
Mr Ribadu, at a lecture in Kaduna on Saturday, was said to have declared that Nigeria is a “sinking ship” under President Jonathan with the yearnings of the masses being neglected by a tyrannical leadership.
Mr Abati had on Monday released a statement where he faulted Mr Ribadu’s views describing them as hypocritical and self-serving.
Read Mr Ribadu’s statement below:
You are an ingrate- FG lambasts Ribadu
The Presidency, yesterday, reacted to the assertion by former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu that Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan is a ‘sinking ship’.
It said that Ribadu is an ingrate considering what the Jonathan administration did for him on his return from self-imposed exile.
Mallam Ribadu at a lecture in Kaduna on Saturday said Nigeria, under President Goodluck Jonathan, was a sinking ship in which the yearnings of the masses were being neglected by a tyrannical leadership.
Reacting to Ribadu’s claim, the Presidency, in a statement, yesterday, by the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, said in his quest for relevance, Ribadu has resorted to disparaging leaders of the land to satisfy his new leaders.
Fatai Rolling Dollar still in hospital over N29, 000 debt+ How he was dupe by fuji artiste Atawewe
“One of Nigeria’s oldest and most prolific musicians was yet to leave Ahmadiyya Hospital because he has been unable to come up with N29,000, balance of his hospital bill – a paltry sum for a musician of his caliber and a situation which may keep the octogenarian in the hospital longer,” the reporter said.
Though, people have rallied round the old man and have sorted the hospital bill as we gathered, notwithstanding, such a small amount shouldn’t be an issue for a legend like him. This is a man who was very close to the former governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu but he no longer has his contact. Hear him ““I was close to the former governor, Bola Tinubu, but I don’t have his contact anymore. The man loves me”.

Ex Bayelsa State Gov. Timipre Sylva breaks protocol to say hello to Pres.Jonathan
Former governor of
Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva,
today breached President Goodluck
Jonathan’s security, walking up to the Nigeria leader at the high
table of a wedding party
and shaking hands with him.
occasion
was the public wedding reception of a daughter of
another former governor, Peter Odili. A security source told Sahara Reporters
both the security and protocol of the President were taken aback by Mr. Sylva’s
action, as he approached the high table while the president was already seated
with other guests, however, they claimed they knew the president was not in any
danger.
A
source close to Mr. Sylva said he only went to greet his next-door neighbor and
celebrant, Mr. Odili and that he (Sylva) used that opportunity to say ” hello ”
to the President as a form of courtesy. ” It was a chance meeting between the
two, there is no reason to impute any motive, when Mr. President asked Sylva how
he was doing he said he was still alive and left to his seat afterwards, ” said
the source that witnessed the incident.
Sylva,
the former governor of Bayelsa State, is facing corruption charges initiated by
the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Mr.
Sylva has repeatedly stated that his trial was motivated by his political
disagreements with Mr. Jonathan. He was prevented from running for a second term
in office by Mr. Jonathan, who then imposed upon the state as governor, his
protege, Seriake Dickson.
Political
observers say that today’s event also reflects the intricate connections between
power and corruption in Nigeria. Odili is widely-known to have looted the
resources of Rivers State during his tenure as governor, but has never been
prosecuted because of a perpetual injunction he obtained for
self-protection.
Although
all of that information must be in the hands of President Jonathan, who claims
to be fighting corruption, he chose to publicly take a seat at a wedding funded
by proceeds of corruption.

Vast of Bracket talks about how he beat cancer
I can't help but post this touching story from Vast of Bracket about his fight with cancer and how he beat the dreaded disease. I can't but be filled with joy that his story didn't end in sadness.
Read below was he said
“I’m grateful the cancer was an early discovery, even though it should have been earlier than when it was discovered. It actually took more than 3 months for Nigerian doctors to discover I had cancer after taking several pain-killers and medicine for headache; we had to fly to London for treatment after it was discovered. We spent a whole lot of money, but we thank God for Life.
My greatest weapon is God and then training. I train a lot even when I was sick. I discovered that it is one of the biggest weapons to fight sickness. One thing about Cancer is once discovered on time, with the right medication, it will be cured forever. I’m healthy now and there is no more trace of cancer in my blood again.”
