Ministerial list to be made public next week Tuesday

The Senate has received the ministerial list this evening. The ministerial list was received by the senate president, Bukola Saraki. The list would be made public at the next sitting of the senate on Oct 6th.

Timipre Sylva wins APC governorship primary in Bayelsa State

A former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Slyva, has won the repeat governorship primary in Bayelsa State under All Progressives Congress held in Yenagoa, the state capital, today, September, 30th. Sylva pulled a total of 981 votes out of the 1147 delegates that cast their votes.

Information reaching the Theatre Command, Operation Lafiya Dole indicates that Boko Haram terrorists have now resorted to poisoning water sources like wells and streams in areas they were dislodged by gallant troops or areas threatened by offensive operations. The latest being the poisoning of the cattle water ponds in Kangallam village along Marte and Abadam axis in Borno State where a large number of cattle died after drinking water from the ponds.

34-year-old man who killed his father in Ipaja turns himself over to police

Nelson Oamen, the 34-year-old accused of stabbing his father, Ehiremen, to death in the Ipaja area of Lagos, has turned himself in to the police.

It was learnt that Nelson, who had earlier escaped from the house, reported at the Ipaja Police Division on Thursday. He had been reportedly transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for further investigation.

The Borno State government has given out scholarships to fifty girls in the state who are left orphaned after members of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram killed their parents.

77-year-old former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae yesterday while receiving a former Chief of Defence Staff, General Alani Akinrinade, at his home narrated the ordeal he passed through in the hands of his abductors. The elder stateman revealed how he was kidnapped on his farm last week Monday and how he almost loss his life in the process. Further, he revealed how the full ransom demanded by the kidnappers was paid in full.
“On Wednesday one of them came and said, ‘look we are going to leave here on Thursday morning. Since we cannot leave you here alone, if we don’t get what we want, we are going to kill you.

“And they said they gave me until 3pm, and if at 3pm they don’t get the money, they would execute me. I thank God that at 21 minutes to 3pm, one of them came and said, ‘the money don complete.’

Police operatives attached to Pen Cinema police station in Agege, Lagos, on Sunday arrested a woman for trying to use twins belonging to Mrs. Ruth Uche for fraud.

The woman was nabbed at College Road Estate, after she took the four- month old babies to a retired police commissioner’s house, claiming they were his grandchildren.

A 25-year-old apprentice, identified simply as Ayomide, has allegedly kidnapped his boss’s two-year-old son in the densely populated Ajegunle area of Lagos barely four days after resumption.
