New Terror group emerges, infiltrates Nigeria

As the country grapples with the terror activities of the fundamentalist Boko Haram sect, another terror group, Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa, has emerged.

Our correspondents gathered that the new sect also has a strong presence in Niger Republic.

Currently, two terrorist groups exist in Nigeria — Boko Haram and Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina fi Biladis Sudan.

SUNDAY PUNCH reports that there are fears in security circles that MOJAO may infiltrate the country due to the porous nature of Nigeria’s borders.

Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, had last week said there were 1,497 illegal routes into the country.

Besides, they are Americans who have their own minds. If they graduate from college and decide to follow my footsteps, it’s their own calling. If I can predict, they wouldn’t want to do what I do because they have better opportunities and better futures than mine. All I do now is to secure a better future for them so they don’t have to go through what I went through in my life time. Mind you, I tell my daughters everything I do. I even told them about this project, the nature of it, but I could not show them because they are not up to 18 yet. I just had to prepare them in case they run into it on the Internet, they won’t be shocked. So don’t worry about my daughters, they are the best children any mother could ever ask for and I thank God for the gift.

Reuben Abati loses mum

Mr Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President Goodluck Jonathan has announced the death of his mother Mrs Maria Taiwo Abati on behalf of the family.

Late Mrs Abati, was 81 years. Until her death she was a devote christian, who dedicated  her live to God and humanity.

The Late Mrs Abati was born on August 7, 1931 to late Mr Samuel Jobo Arowotadina and Mrs Elizabeth Efundunke Arowotadina of Ijemo, Abeokuta.

She was a trader in Kuto market in Abeokuta for many years, where she is address as Mama sunday and Mama Adunni. She is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren among them Mr Reuben Abati.

The burial arrangement will be announced by the family.

Woolwich attacker is a Nigerian- Michael Adebolajo

One of the attacker of the soldier who was brutally murdered yesterday afternoon hvae been identified as Michael Adebolajo a Nigerian born British. His father has been identified as a nurse in one of the hospitals in Uk. His identity was revealed through his twitter account by police investigators.

The London police raided the house of one of the suspects after his name was revealed on Twitter as Michael Adebolajo. He was seen ranting on a video shortly after the murder. The suspects were said to have converted to a radical form of Islam although they were not suspected to have any ties with Boko Haram.

Throughout the frenzied attack the two killers shouted ‘Allah Akbar’ – Arabic for ‘God is great’ – then demanded horrified witnesses film them as they ranted over the crumpled body.

The two attackers in their 20s, waited calmly for armed police to arrive before charging at officers brandishing a rusty revolver, knives and meat cleavers.

When the old pistol was shot towards police it backfired and blew the thumb off one of the men.

Moments later they were cut down in a hail of bullets believed to be fired by a woman marksman. Last night both men were being treated in hospital for their wounds.

As the police raided a detached house in Lincolnshire village where Adebolajo was listed to have lived in 2004, One nearby resident said: ‘I know his family have ties to London, but whoever is at this house is very secretive.‘The curtains are always drawn at the front and the back, I’ve never seen anybody in the garden, either.’

Man beheaded in broad daylight in Woolwich, South London

A man believed to be a serving soldier was yesterday attacked in an on provoked violence. The man was attacked by two b.lack men in the broad day light and was beheaded by the men who had an old revolver, knives and meat cleavers as weapon.

The incident took place in Woolwich in South, London yesterday afternoon.

The soldier who was driving was rammed into by the two black men in Blue Vauhall on John Wilson Street, who then jumped out of their car and started attacking the victim with the meat cleavers.

An eyewitness of what happened said the attackers were 'chopping this guy into pieces, literary hacking into something like it was a piece of meat'.

Akolade Arowolo claimed wife stabbed herself to death

Akolade Arowolo, the young man who killed his wife, Titilayo, in 2011 in a gruesome manner is back in court for the murder case. Kolawole is now saying that Titilayo, was the one who stabbed herself to death. Akolade Arowolo, a 32-year-old man, who is standing trial for allegedly killing his banker wife, Titilayo (Omozoje) Arowolo, has told an Ikeja High Court that his wife exhibited strange behaviour on the day she died.

He said she could have been hypnotised, mentally unstable or drunk.

Akolade alleged that his wife’s stepmother, Toun Oyakhire, was not a good person and had pitted his wife against him.

Akolade, while being led in evidence by his lawyer, Olanrewaju Ajanaku, said he and his wife had sex on the day she died. He said they had agreed to stay indoors throughout the day since it was his birthday, adding that he, however, went out to withdraw some money which they would use in celebrating his birthday.

He said on returning home, an argument ensued, causing his wife to slap him.
