Gov. Amaechi suspended from PDP

The National
Working Committee at its emergency meeting on Monday, 27 May, 2013 considered the petition submitted by the PDP Rivers State Executive Committee against His Excellency Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Executive Governor of Rivers State for violating Articles 58 1 (b), (c ), (h) and (m) of the PDP Constitution.
The National Working Committee after preliminary hearing, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 57 (3), 59 (3), 59 (5) and 29 (2.b) hereby suspends the Executive Governor of River State, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a member of the PDP and refers the matter to the appropriate disciplinary committee of the Party.

Factional Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State returned home Sunday admitting that he never bargained to lead the group but has accepted it as God’s handiwork.
Jang who spoke to journalists on arrival at the Yakubu Gowon Airport on arrival pleaded with Governor Rotimi Amaechi to back down and accept him as the new leader of the forum.
Amaechi had been declared winner of the election but the Jang group revolted against his declaration citing Jang’s purported endorsement by 19 governors in a pre-election agreement

Jonathan said this while granting an interview to a 10-year-old Nigerian girl based in California, Miss Zuriel Oduwole, on the sideline of the ongoing 21st ordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Africa Union holding in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Oduwole who was said to have earlier interviewed some other African leaders is working on a documentary on the union’s 50 years of existence.
She had sought to know from Jonathan how much good luck his first name had brought to the country under his leadership.

Reuben Abati loses mum
Late Mrs Abati, was 81 years. Until her death she was a devote christian, who dedicated her live to God and humanity.
The Late Mrs Abati was born on August 7, 1931 to late Mr Samuel Jobo Arowotadina and Mrs Elizabeth Efundunke Arowotadina of Ijemo, Abeokuta.
She was a trader in Kuto market in Abeokuta for many years, where she is address as Mama sunday and Mama Adunni. She is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren among them Mr Reuben Abati.
The burial arrangement will be announced by the family.
