A Lagos based business man Mr. Ayo Adeneye has been arraigned in a Customary court for beating his 72-year old mother-in-law to coma.

The 47 year old who described himself as just a business man told the courtroom that he came back to meet his three children with marks on their bodies with their grandmother Mrs. Mary Alake claiming it was just for medicinal purposes.

Police in Ondo State are on the trail of an ex-police officer, Tajudeen Adeniyi, over an attempt to kill his wife, Moyosola, by macheting her, inflicting a 10-centimetre deep gash on her head.

The 38-year-old suspect took to his heels immediately he inflicted the injury on his wife who has had four children for him.

Adeniyi, according to investigation, has gone underground following the hint he got that the family of the wife had reported the incident to the Police.

Governor Fashola refuses to have elaborates 50th birthday

 

There are few Nigerian governors both present and past that I like and Governor Babatunde Fashola top my list and the other person his old Lagos state governor Lateef Jakande. To the main topic, Gov.Fashola will clock 50years on June 28th and an elaborate birthday party (You can imagine the numbers of aso-ebi that would have been bought in Alausa and other place) on his behalf by his aides, but the humble governor asked them to stop has he was unwilling to spend the taxpayers money on a party ( I know some people would have made some real money all in the name of planning a big party, hehehe)

I asked them if governors in other countries don't have their birthdays and is it usually in such a loud way and manner? If I do it my own way it won't cost me that much to receive my visitors. I funded my 40th birthday when I was Chief of Staff and it cost me so much. I am not quite sure I can do the same now. As a Governor, it will cost me more. I am not sure I want to spend that kind of money on parties. And to tell you the truth, the idea that probably I will have a birthday at tax payers expense is something that does not go down well with me, and it's only for 24 hours. So I am going to have a very quiet and simple day with close friends and family.

Father beats his 14 months old daughter with phone cable

This is one of the bad things, I have seen that a parent will do to his/her child, infact this is terrible. I keep asking myself what a 1 year old could have done to you to be beaten so badly. According to the father, the baby was disturbing him from watching the television so he decided to beat her with the cable of a phone charger (See the terrible lacaretion on the child's back) but the mother insisted that he did it for ritual purposes.
