Susan Rice was up until recently the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Her long-standing aspiration of becoming the US Secretary of State was dashed when the Republicans in the Senate started sharpening their knives in anticipation of her formal nomination for that position by President Barak Obama.
Sensing that her nomination would not scale through the Senate and that she would not be confirmed as Secretary of State due to the role she played in the cover-up of the Benghazi shooting in which the US envoy to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other American citizens were murdered by a group of Islamist terrorists, her nomination was withdrawn.

You are desperate and an illitrate- Ribadu tells Abati
A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu has described the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati as a desperate personality, a fraud and someone who lacks ‘the simplest level of media literacy.’
Reacting to a statement credited to Mr Abati, in which the presidential spokesman referred to his views at a lecture in Kaduna last weekend as hypocritical and self-serving, Mr Ribadu accused the presidential aide of standing on “crooked crutches of rehashed falsehoods fabricated by corrupt politicians.”
Mr Ribadu, at a lecture in Kaduna on Saturday, was said to have declared that Nigeria is a “sinking ship” under President Jonathan with the yearnings of the masses being neglected by a tyrannical leadership.
Mr Abati had on Monday released a statement where he faulted Mr Ribadu’s views describing them as hypocritical and self-serving.
Read Mr Ribadu’s statement below:
You are an ingrate- FG lambasts Ribadu
The Presidency, yesterday, reacted to the assertion by former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu that Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan is a ‘sinking ship’.
It said that Ribadu is an ingrate considering what the Jonathan administration did for him on his return from self-imposed exile.
Mallam Ribadu at a lecture in Kaduna on Saturday said Nigeria, under President Goodluck Jonathan, was a sinking ship in which the yearnings of the masses were being neglected by a tyrannical leadership.
Reacting to Ribadu’s claim, the Presidency, in a statement, yesterday, by the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, said in his quest for relevance, Ribadu has resorted to disparaging leaders of the land to satisfy his new leaders.
Fatai Rolling Dollar still in hospital over N29, 000 debt+ How he was dupe by fuji artiste Atawewe
“One of Nigeria’s oldest and most prolific musicians was yet to leave Ahmadiyya Hospital because he has been unable to come up with N29,000, balance of his hospital bill – a paltry sum for a musician of his caliber and a situation which may keep the octogenarian in the hospital longer,” the reporter said.
Though, people have rallied round the old man and have sorted the hospital bill as we gathered, notwithstanding, such a small amount shouldn’t be an issue for a legend like him. This is a man who was very close to the former governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu but he no longer has his contact. Hear him ““I was close to the former governor, Bola Tinubu, but I don’t have his contact anymore. The man loves me”.
