The governor is said to be recuperating further at his New York home with his wife and children with him and some of his top aides and some other officials among who are the, Hon. Haruna Manu of the House of Representative, Hon. Mark Useni of the State House of Assembly, Former Deputy Seaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Abel Peter Dial and Hon. Rebo Usman.

One of the doctors in-charge of the Gov. Suntai, hopwver stated that the governor cannot return to the country now until he is given an okay to take a long flight back to Nigeria to resume his duty.
According to report the governor was said to have claimed to be medically okay to perform his duty as the governor of, Taraba and could walk around as required of being a governor to see to his duty.
