Working on tip-off, the police swung into action to arrest the suspect but he escape from the scene with some bullet wounds but was later arrested after the
police traced him to his elder brother's wife house, where he had gone for treatment.

During his confession to the police, Chibueze, revealed that he has operated in many part of Nigeria, Cotonou and Abidjan, where his wife, a camerounian, who believes he is a cloth dealer reside with his family. He said apart from kidnapping his victims, he has also assassinated some of the who had prove stubborn.
His other confession includes the killing his girlfriend, whom he opened a supermarket for in Aba, her parents and siblings in Lagos after she ran away with t the sum of N45million
He was arrested alongside others including Hakeem Bello, an Army deserter from Kwara State, who has been protecting the suspect with is army identity card.
His native doctor, Alexander Ohidige and treasures were also arrested.
