Two Arik Airline planes collide, investigation launched

Two Arik Air planes yesterday Tuesday 20th, collided with each other while maneuvering out of the apron at the General Aviation Terminal ( GAT) of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, in Lagos. 

As a result of this the two planes have their wing tips damaged and have now been grounded to allow further investigations into the cause of the incident. 

The airline spokesperson, Adebanji Ola in a statement confirmed the incident

This morning President Muhammadu Buhari was in Cross Rivers state to conduct the ground breaking of the 260km Calabar - Kastina Ala Super Highway at Obung, Cross Rivers.

South African woman arrested for trying to sell baby on Gumtree for 5,000 rand

A South African woman has been charged with human trafficking after allegedly trying to sell a child for 5,000 rand ($525) on the trading website Gumtree, police say.

The 20-year-old was arrested during an undercover operation following a tip-off from a member of the public.

"We met her and there was an exchange of money with an undercover police officer," Hangwani Mulaudzi, spokesman for the Hawks special crimes investigation unit said.

"We arrested her directly."

90-year-old woman who donated N1m for Buhari's campaign returns from medical treatment in Dubai

Hajiya Fati Koko, the 90-year-old woman from Kebbi State, who donated N1million for President Muhammadu Buhari's campaign during the election has returned from Dubai, where she was taken by All Progressives Congress, APC, for medical attention after she had a stroke.
It was earlier reported that the woman had been abandoned by APC after donating her savings towards its campaign but the allegation was immediately refuted by the party through a statement which said that the Kebbi state governor, Abubakar Bawa Dakingari and his wife were in constant touch with the woma

Oscar Pistorius released to house arrest after one year in prison, twitterphere says he got away with murder

After serving just a year out of his five years sentence for the culpable murder of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, paralympic, Oscar Pistorius, has been released to under house arrest.
Pistorius , was released from prison by the South Africa Correctional Service on Monday to serve the rest of his prison term under House Arrest.
He was released ahead of his scheduled date which was Tuesday but the South Africa prison released him to Monday night at 10:00pm South Africa time to avoid media frenzy on Tuesday.
Pistorius, spent his first night out of prison at his uncle's house under heavy guard.

NDLEA arrest 34-year-old man with 108 ATM cards at MMIA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Saturday arrested a 34-year-old man, (name withheld) suspected to be working for an international criminal organisation, in possession of 108 Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) debit cards belonging to five commercial banks.

According to a statement by the anti-narcotic’s spokesman Ofoyeju Mitchell said the arrest took place at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos while the suspect was attempting to board a Qatar Airline flight to China.
