Gov. Adams Oshiomhole and others sued for N300million debt

 A corporate body, A.I.C limited has instituted a legal action against Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state and the Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice over a N300million unpaid debts arising from the supply of materials for the Benin City Water Supply Project.

In a writ of summon issued at the High Court of Justice, Benin City,in suit No: B/223/2013 and dated 6th day of May, 2013 by Ighodalo Imadegbelo, SAN and Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, (SAN) for Ighodalo Imadegbelo, & Co., solicitor to the claimants, the claimant is asking the that the defendants, (The Executive Governor of Edo State and Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Edo state,) pay up the N300million indebted to it.

“You are hereby commanded that within 42 days after the service of this writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of A.I.C LIMITED and take notice that in default of your so doing the claimant may proceed therein and judgment may be given in your absence”, it stated.

Son use mother for ritual, body found in cupboard after ten years

The police in Imo have arrested one Chimezie Osuigwe, a retired vice-principal, for the alleged murder of his 78-year-old mother in 2003.
Osuigwe was arrested after the embalmed body of the septuagenarian was discovered in a cupboard at his house by a family member.
According to Mr Musa Katsina, the Commissioner of Police in Imo, the woman, Mrs Lucy Osuigwe, was declared missing since 2003.
Katsina told newsmen at the house in Ejemekuru in Oguta Local Government Area on Monday that the embalmed body had been kept in that condition since 2003.
“The corpse of Mrs Lucy Osuigwe, who was declared missing in 2003 was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine in a private room in a circumstance depicting ritual practice.

Angelina Jolie reveals undergoing double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer

 37 year old actress and mother of six, Angelina Jolie, has revealed she had double mastectomy because of fear of developing cancer of the breast and her doctor's diagnosis, which say she is 87% susceptible to cancer of the breast due to genetic factors.
 Angelina's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died at the age of 56, after battling cancer of the breast for almost a decade.

The actress said that her mother only had an opportunity to lift one of her grandchildren before she died at the age of 56 of breast cancer. She said that she decided to go for the double mastectomy to stop herself from developing cancer of the breast, thoug, it was a very difficult decision for her to make. She said went through, series of medical procedures to remove and reconstruct her breast back from February till April of 2013 . She also said that all through the period, her man of many years, Brad Pitt stood by her side.

-Mastectomy is a term use in the mediacl line, which stand for the removal of one or both breasts completely or partially.

Asari Dokubo sued by an Abuja based NGO for making war threat

An Abuja based NGO called the Anti Corruption-Network, has sued former leader of militant group of the Niger Delta region, Asari Dokubo for treason. Dokubo, has been saying it over a month that there would be war in the country, if president Goodluck Jonathan is not re-elected for second term.

The Executive Secretary of Anti-Corruption Network and former member of the House of Representatives, Dino Melaye, revealed this to journalists at a press conference held at the organisation’s headquarter in Abuja.

said: ”This morning, my lawyers instituted a case against Asari-Dokubo, that Nigeria will be made ungovernable if President Jonathan isn’t re-elected in 2015.”

Girl 18 stabbed 19 year-old boy who tried to rape her on her birthday to death

May 5, 2013 was Onyinyechi Orakwuelum’s 18th birthday.The day she became an adult and the day she allegedly stabbed to death 19-year-old Akinwale Ayobami, who she said wanted to rape her.
Onyinye, who is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, Ibadan, pending investigation, narrated her story to Tribune and she said:
I am from Nkwele Ogidi in Anambra. I finished from Saint Gabriel Commercial Secondary School, Mokola, Ibadan, in 2011.
The deceased (Ayobami) was my mate in secondary school, as well as my friend Funmbi.
My parents moved to our personal house at Ologuneru community in Ibadan, so I lost contact with my friends. One day, my mother came home and told me that she saw my friend, Funmbi, and that they had also moved to Ologuneru. I was happy and we reunited.
She later gained admission into a university. In April this year, she came to me and asked if I remembered Ayobami, who was popularly called Ewizzy. She said they chatted on facebook and that he told her that he was also living at Ologuneru, and had asked her to meet him at a junction so that she could know his place.

Actress Camilla Mberekpe denies being a witch, says evil forces her after her life

 

On April 28th, nollywood actress Camilla Mberekpe was reported to have confessed to being a witch on Emmanuel TV, That day she claimed she was responsible for many atrocities, one of which was that she was behind the lack of promotion of her daughter at her place of work. The actress, has now come out to deny that she ever said she was a witch.
