The death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuwade Okunade Olubuse II has finally been confirmed.
The confirmation of the king's passing was made through the Awara, Iwara-ife, Chief Layi Adereti, said official proclamation of the death of the Ooni who died July 28th, would be made on Wednesday August 12th.

A man, identified as Segun Odofin, who has been parading himself as the Assistant Editor of The News magazine was on Sunday arrested at a reception in honour of the immediate past Controller General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr. Ade Abolurin in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital. 

The suspect was invited outside the hall to explain himself to members of the Ogun State Correspondent Chapel led by its Chairman, Kunle Olayeni was later arrested for impersonation.

NAFDAC arrests 24-year-old with expired products

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control  (NAFDAC) has uncovered an illegal factory within the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos, loaded with various expired food condiments worth millions of naira.

 It arrested a 24–year-old, Mr. Victor Ebuka Okeke, in connection with the expired products.

The factory, which was originally a one- shop, was said to have been used to stock, re-validate and distribute expired products.   Some of the expired products discovered in the factory include expired Maggi Sauce with manufacturing dates: 15/08/2011 and expiry dates: 15/08/2014, Amoy Dark Soy Sauce, Costa Corned Beef and Exeter Corned beef, among others.
