Two robber, policeman dead in robbery incident

Two members of a robbery gang and a police man have lost their life during an operation in a newspaper company in Port Harcourt.

The incident happened in the early hours of Monday, July 14th, when a robbery gang numbering about 4, stormed the newspaper company.

It was gathered that while the operation was been carried out, the owner of the newspaper company was alerted and he put a call to the police who immediately came to the scene of the robbery. More after the cut


While the police engaged the robbers in gun battle, one member of the police force lost his life while two of the robbery gang were also shot dead.

Speaking on the incident the owner of the newspaper said “I got a distress call from my staff around 1:12
am and immediately alerted the police through
one of the police emergency numbers.The police
quickly swung into action and arrived our
premises.Two of the robbers were gunned down.
Unfortunately, one of the mobile policemen was
shot dead in our premises".
