Gaddafi's son, eight others sentenced to death over war crimes

The son of late Libya dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, Saif al-Islam, and eight others have been sentenced to death by a court in Libya.
Al-Islam and the eight others were sentened over the war crime that was perpetuated by them during the 2011 revolution by the people of Libya.
Al-Islam, was not present in court for his sentencing but he gave evidence via a video link.
He is currently held by a former rebel group from the town of Zintan.


More than 30 member of the Gaddafi association are facing trial for different war crimes during the uprising in 2011 that left many dead.
Among those facing the death penalty is Gaddafi's Head of Intelligence, Abudullah al-senussi.
