Dora Akunyili's husband writes posthumous birthday message to her

Chike Akunyili, the husband of late NAFDAC Chief and former information minister, Dora Akunyili, today wrote a touching posthumous birthday message to her on her facebook page. Yesterday, July 14th was her birthday and she would have been 60 years.

The late, Dora Akunyili passed away on June 7th after battling with Cancer.

WE MISS YOU, MUMMY

Our darling Dora would have been 60 yesterday
(July 14) if she were to be alive
But she is no more – felled 37 days ago by the
mortal enemy, death, on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
Beloved Dora,
You had eagerly looked forward to this day
But, alas! you never lived to see it.
We deeply love you, Mummy
It was our wish never to let you go
But when death comes, what can we do than to
submit to the will of the Almighty?
Beloved Dora,
We very sincerely admire the decent character in
you and those dreams of a golden future for

Dreaded sect, Boko Haram on saturday bombed a bridge linking, Maiduguri, Biu and Damboa together using
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
A large portion of the Madafuma Bridge
was damaged, thereby making it
impossible to link Maiduguri from Biu,
Garkida, Numam and parts of Taraba.
A resident, Mallam Musa Yakubu, said
the incident took place on Saturday at
about 2am.

Toyin Alausa has become a household name in Nollywood and most especially in the soap operas, where she has become a regular. In this interview with Abimbola Adebayo, talks about her job as an actress, why people percieve her as a difficult person and being a single mother....except

Why is it that you are more visible in soap opera than in movies?
I didn't set out to intentionally shoot soap opera's alone but that is what I get most. But I get people who call me for movies roles but the soaps are more regular.

Could it be that you don't get along with your colleagues who makes movies?
They know me because I don't think anybody in the industry does not know who, Toyin Alausa is. They reach out for me when they have something for me. I also think sometimes they forget. I have met with people, who when they see me says; Toyin are you around, are you in town. Ha, Toyin, I just shot a movie and I would have featured you in the movie. Sometimes I just ask them, do they call me. The cartels in the industry are also responsible and also the financial constraints but I still get movie jobs. If the movie I am being called for is not worth it, I don't shoot.

Mourners in Aurora,Zamboanga Del Sul in the Philippines, were shocked, when a 3 year old girl, who had earlier been pronounced dead woke up at her own funeral on July 12th in a church, while the priest was preparing to administer the final sacrament.

It was said that the young girl had took ill with fever and the father took her to the hospital but she was pronounced dead on at 9am on Friday, July 11th. The father went to prepare for her funeral, which took place the next day, Saturday, July 12. While they were in the church, a family of the deceased had opened her coffin to arranged her corpse very well but she saw her moved her head,making her to raise an alarm that the little girl is still alive.

People were shocked at the miracle and started recording the scene. The girl was rushed to the hospital, where it was said that the girl had only gone into a comatose stage.

Today, a famous son of Nigeria, a playwright, poet, critic, activist, first African to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature, and the man who wrote one of my favourite poem of all time " The Telephone Conversation" is 80 year -old.

Pastor accused of running a ritualist den speaks out

Remember the kidnap story of a woman, Rosemary Chukwu, who kidnapped her neighbour's 6 year old son while the boy was on his way to fetch water from the compound well? Do you remember the woman, when caught trying to escape with the boy kept in a box, said that it was her pastor that sent her to bring the boy for ritual purpose. Now the pastor, Ernest Nwankwo, the General Overseer House of Mercy, accused of running a
ritualist' den in Ikorodu, has finally told
his own side of the story stating that his church is not a ritualist den but a place that is used to treat mentally ill people as against what was earlier alledged.

Speaking about the incident for the first
time, Nwankwo told Vanguard, that he doesn't even know the lady

"I do not know how these allegations
of ritual actions against me started.
My ministry has existed for 17 years
and we have never been associated
with any bad thing or any untoward
allegation. We have been doing well
in carrying out God’s work since we
came into existence.

Music producer and Singer, OJB Jezreel, who survived kidney transplant last year celebrated his 48th birthday as well launched his foundation. The event was held at the Sheraton Hotel in, Ikeja.
Speaking about why he launched a kidney foundation, the singer said that it is his own way of given back to the society by helping people with kidney problem and urge for support from people.
