Why my marriage crashed- Femi Kuti

Son of late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Femi Kuti on Sunday opened up to Sunday Sun about his crashed marriage to Funke, his ex-wife and mother of his first child, Made. At the moment the Afrobeat King is in Paris, France where he is due to perform at the biggest African music festival in Europe.

Does it mean you and Funke may come back as husband and wife?
I doubt it. But you never know. You never know what God has in plan for you. What if you say never and something just happens? If they told me she would leave my house one day, I would have said it is impossible. So, if she comes back one day, you never know what can happen. One sickness can hook you down and she might be the person by your bedside, what would happen? I don’t pray for it but you never know what God has in plan for you. So, I am not the one that tempts fate. Right now, I am content, I am happy, we are friendly and my children are also happy.

I regret killing my husband- 14 year-old Wasila Umaru

Days after killing her husband and 3 others by adding rat poison to their meal during a small wedding gathering,  14 year- old child bride, Wasila Umaru, has said she regret her action that caused the death of her husband and others. The incident  occurred at Ungwar Yansoro village in Gaya LGA near the city of Kano. 
In an interview with a Vanguard reporter Wasila said;

“Mine was a classical example of youthful exuberance; it dawned on me shortly after that it was a joke taken too far to resolve a forced marriage question. I have never enjoyed the opportunity of going to Islamic school or acquiring Western education. My father forced me into this mess by stubbornly forcing me into a relationship I was not prepared to live in"
"Though my target was my late husband, I must confess that my blood went cold when I realized I had committed mass murder”.

Fruad allegation Laide Bakare drags EFCC to Court

 Alhaji Mutairu Babatunde Oriowo, husband of Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has debunked the fraud and theft story against him occasioned through a declaration by the EFCC and published recently in a national daily. The businessman, who is the CEO of Primavera Construction & Engineering Ltd, added that, contrary to EFCC’s statement declaring him wanted, he is not on the run because he has not committed any offence to warrant running away from his fatherland.
The businessman said that he was miffed by the EFCC declaration because he could not understand what the interest of EFCC was, as no court of law has indicted him for any offence and no warrant of arrest has ever been issued on him.

Lagos electrocution: Pregnant woman, five others died

Five persons, including a pregnant woman were allegedly electrocuted on Thursday in Lagos after a PHCN high-tension cable fell, causing fire and explosion.

An eyewitness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident happened around 2.00 a.m. at Oworonshoki, Lagos. The source said that fire broke out when the cable fell on a Toyota Camry car loaded with petroleum products. The source said that the victims rushed out of their homes when they heard the explosion and ran into the live cable unknowingly.
“As they rushed out, they all embraced the cable in front of their house and they were electrocuted.
“The corpses were taken to Yaba General Hospital by policemen from Oworonshoki and some residents of the area.
“The husband of the pregnant woman, who also lost a son, attempted to commit suicide by drinking a poisonous substance but was however, prevented by neighbours.
“The youths in the area prevented PHCN workers from coming to the scene because they blamed the electricity company for the deaths,’’ the source told NAN.

Woman Caught stealing baby through window in Ogun State

 In the early hours of today, a 31 year old woman identified as Blessing Aransiola was allegedly caught trying to steal a one year old baby, Oreoluwa Adanri from her parent home at Ademola Coker Street, Alagbole, Ogun State.

PM News reports....

Narrating what happened, Oreoluwa's mother, Mrs Adanri said Blessing gained entrance into their home around 4am by tearing their window net as they slept. She said she was woken up by the cry of her daughter in the hands of the suspect.

"She picked up the baby as she was sleeping on the bed by the window and stole N5,000 kept in a purse. She was trying to run away when my husband ran after her and caught her. I raised an alarm to draw neighbours’ attention to the incident and everybody came out to assist us,” Mrs. Adanri narrated.

Magistrate killer remanded in prison

A 21 year old domestic servant, David Udah, who macheted a magistrate judge to death last week as been remanded in prison.

An Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Isabo on Friday ordered a 21-year-old steward, David Idah, be remanded for allegedly killing his employer.
The Prosecutor, Insp Banji Sangotokun, told the court that Idah killed Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin, a 65-year -old magistrate, using a matchet.
He stated that the offence was committed on March 28 at about 3pm at block 11, Flat 6 at Laderin Housing Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Another ritualist den discovered in Ogun State

It is really getting scaring that no where is safe in Nigeria anymore with the increase in the discovering of ritualist dens in recent times. Most especially in Cities. According to Punch Ng, a ritualist den was discovered yesterday in Adigbe part of Ogun State. A pregnant woman who had been sold by a relative of her escaped the den and raised an alarmed that attracted student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. Who on discovering some items in the house including a cooler that contains blood set it on fire . I once lived in that area while still a student of Mapoly. Are we safe?

 There was pandemonium in the Akinremi Estate, Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday after some youths discovered a baby factory around Vulcaniser Bus Stop.
The incident comes barely two weeks after eight women were rescued from a baby factory in the Akute area of the state.
Eyewitnesses told PUNCH Metro that the youths, who thought the building was a ritual killers’ den broke into the compound.

Tchidi Chikere blasts wife Sophia on Twitter, call her a cheat

I thought this would end with yesterday tweet but it seems nollywood director and producer, Tchidi Chikere has just started. About an hour ago, Tchidi, who just had a controversial marriage with Nollywood actress, Nuella Njubigbo, has called out his first wife Sophia Chikere, on twitter. The movie director in a series of tweet alleged that his first wife Sophia is a serial cheat and one who never gave him a home. In everything that happen in life, there are always two side to it. But for the sake of the kids and their feelings, Tchidi should have been matured enough and not post all these.
